Lena Mae (Templeton) (Davis) Jeffrey, 89, longtime resident of Kiowa and formerly of Iowa Park, Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Services will at 2 p.m. Monday at Bishop Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow at Kiowa Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
She was born May 1, 1924, in Oakland, Okla., to William Marvin and Ollie Loraine (Van Diver) Templeton.
She married Elbert Davis on Aug. 5, 1940, and they had four children. She later married Glen R. (Pat) Jeffrey on March 3, 1969.
She graduated from Oklahoma State University Okmulgee cooking school in 1955 and cooked for Harpers Valley School and Iowa Park High School. Later, she worked for Roland’s Restaurant in Iowa Park and at Levi Strauss & Company.
She was a founding member of Harpers Valley Baptist Church and sold bonds to construct a new sanctuary for Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park in 1962.
She is survived by her daughters, Annette Hatridge, of Kiowa, and Sue Huchel, and husband, Bill, of Mansfield, Ill.; son, William Brent Davis, and wife, Patti, of Kiowa; grandchildren, Rebecca Annette Venter, and husband, Bob, of Tenkiller, Leisa Mae Hatridge, and husband, Roy, of Kiowa, Gerri Lea Fields, of Kiowa, James Elbert Terral, and wife, Loraine, of Ashland, Mike Doyle, of Kiowa, Jimmy Doyle, and wife, Amy, of Moore, Stephen Huchel, and wife, Anita, of Bloomington, Ill., Amy Jo Nelson, and husband, Randy, of Kiowa, and Jamie Mae Lambert, and husband, Roy, of Kiowa; 22 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Othie Templeton; a daughter, Betty Lou Doyle; and her husbands, Elbert Davis and Pat Jeffrey.
