Larry Ray Barlow, 63, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services were today at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Arty Hearod officiating. Burial was at Long Grove Cemetery in Scipio. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born July 18, 1950, in McAlester, he was the son of Joe Barlow and Ida (Medley) Barlow. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1968.
He moved to Dallas, where he began a career in the printing industry. He later moved back to McAlester and began working at the United States Army Ammunition Plant, retiring in 2012.
Survivors include his daughter, Christy Whetzel, Nacona, Texas; brothers, J.B. Barlow, of Scipio, Ronnie Barlow and wife, Joyce, Emory, Texas, and Jerry Barlow and wife, Ellen, of Crowder.
Also, sister, Levoyce Riddel, Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Devin, Dustyn, Lauren and Drake Whetzel; great-grandson, Brody Hall, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ida Barlow, and brother, Jack Barlow.
Pallbearers were Adam Barlow, Wade Barlow, Denny Barlow, Gary Barlow, Cleon Smith and Trent Myers.
Honorary pallbearer was Jerry Barlow Jr.
