Harold Cloer, 89, of McAlester, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at V.A. Medical Center in Norman.
Visitation will be during the week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne with Pastor Kenneth Rouviere officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Robert B. Thomas Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No 1098 of McAlester.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born May 30, 1924, in Oklahoma City, he was the son of William and Nellie Florence (Baylie) Sunford. He served in the United States Army during World War II and married Martha Mae Ziverk on Aug. 5, 1944, in Wilburton.
He was supervisor in the data processing department at the U.S. Army Ammunition Plant.
He enjoyed repairing lawnmowers, working on Volkswagens, buying and trading cars and taking care of his wife and granddaughter. He was a Mason and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Marcy Ireland, of Edmond, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Mae Cloer; daughter, Priscella Anne Fairchild; parents, William Sunford and Nellie Florence Sunford; brother, Marvin Dennis Cloer, and sister, Emma Bernice Morrow.
