Ward Stanley Goff

McALESTER — Ward Stanley Goff, 88, of Bartlesville, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at his home.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home of Bartlesville.

Born July 22, 1925, in East St. Louis, Ill., he was the son of Frank Edward Goff and Rachel (Bridges) Goff. He grew up in Muskogee and graduated from Central High School.

After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II and served honorably in the construction battalion, a/k/a “Sea Bees”.

After the war he met Lahoma Smith and they were married and moved to McAlester. He worked for Union Iron Works (BEMAC Supply Company) a plumbing wholesale company and retired after more than 40 years.

After retirement they moved to Bartlesville to be closer to family. He loved to play golf, loved to play music with his stand up bass and was the family story teller.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Jan Goff, of Gans, Mike and Denise Goff, of Bartlesville, and Steve and Carmen Goff, of Jenks; his grandchildren, Jim, Mika, Keely, Samantha, Brittany, Ashley and Bethany; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lahoma; a son, Richard Smith; his brothers, Russell and Bill Goff, and his sisters, Delores Thomas and Thelma Wilkinson.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
