McALESTER — Loyal Williams, 83, of Kiowa, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, in McAlester.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gospel Lighthouse in Kiowa, next to Kiowa Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Deshazer and the Rev. John Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Sept. 22, 1930, in Kiowa, he was the son of W.O. “Bud” and Clara Ann (Lackey) Williams. He grew up in Kiowa and moved to Moore, where he was a barber and barber instructor for many years.

He returned to Kiowa in 2001. He married Wanda Faye Smith on Aug. 21, 1948, and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2001. He later married Ida Beene on Jan. 12, 2002, and she preceded him in death on May 10, 2007.  He was a Mason.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Royal and Juanita Williams, of Kiowa; one sister, Virginia Cross-Davis, of Kiowa; nieces, nephews and spouses, Elton Ray and Ruby Cross, Murphy, Texas, Hoyt Trammell, of McAlester, Marjoe and Linda Davis, Anderson, S.C., Glynda and Ron Smith, Southlake, Texas, Brenda and James Porter, of McAlester, Terry Williams, of McAlester, and Nancy and Randy Hughes, of Blanchard; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and special friend, Wanda Bussey.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, sister, Minnie Williams, and niece, Ann Trammell.

Pallbearers will be Terry Williams, James Porter, Randy Hughes, Ronnie Smith, Randy McMath and Nicholas Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gibbs, Garner Boyd, Kenny Richardson, Michael Trammell, Marjoe Davis, Everett Beaver, James Levi Lackey, Brett Porter and Erik Hughes.
