Thomas Willie Anderson, 80, of Haywood, died Feb. 26, 2014, in McAlester.
Funeral services were March 1 at Community Baptist Church in Stringtown with the Rev. Wayne Bailey officiating. Burial was at Miller Family Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 8, 1934, in Atoka, he was the son of Thomas and Susan Anderson. He was a Southern Baptist Missionary minister. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea and married Rhoda Miller on Dec. 5, 1952, in LaJunta, Colo. He was a member of First Indian Baptist Church in McAlester and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Rhoda Anderson, of the home; two sons, J. Wayne Anderson and wife, Martha, of Marlow, and Robert Douglas Anderson, of McAlester.
Also, grandchildren, Mandy Jo Lawson and husband, Hank, of Caney, Joshua Cordell Anderson, of Tulsa, Mike Travis Anderson, of Sapulpa, and Mikala Dawn Anderson, of Sapulpa.
And, great-grandchildren, Shane Tisdale, of Caney, Callie Jo Armstrong, of Caney, Lilly Anderson, of Tulsa, and Tara Anderson, of Tulsa; sisters, Loveda Holley, of Atoka, Gladys Crittenden, of Atoka, and Deloris Powell, of Tushka, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Susan Anderson, and a brother, Ellis Haskell Anderson.
Pallbearers were Shane Tisdale, Eddie Raney, Jed Thompson, Joshua Anderson, Kirk Keeton and Matt Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were Eleasha Horton, Darrell Kinsey, Sherman Miller, Vincent Kinsey and Richard Miller.
