McALESTER — Latha “Nona” Champion, 70, of Hartshorne, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, in Haileyville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Sept. 19, 1943, in Haileyville, she was the daughter of Joseph Ira and Dora Ann (Clark) Phelps. She had worked close to 30 years for Spirit/Boeing.

Survivors include her spouse, Bill Webber, of the home; seven children, Latha Risso, Los Angeles, Calif., Emily Zozula, of Haileyville, Matt Champion, of Haileyville, Josh Champion, of Scipio, Ira Champion, Columbus, Ga., Paul Champion, of Hartshorne, and Brady Champion, of Haileyville; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, J.D. Phelps, Wichita, Kan., and one sister, Irene Hancock, Garland, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe and Luke Phelps; sister, Peggy Phelps, and the father of her children, Paul James Champion II.

Pallbearers will be Derek Brown, Paul Champion, Matt Champion, Joe Baughman, Leonard Baughman, Billy Hughes and Stuart Webber.

Honorary pallbearers will be her Spirit/Boeing family.
