McALESTER — Inez Douglas, 86, of Alderson, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at a local nursing center.
The family will receive visitors from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Bishop Funeral Service
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at North Town Church of Christ, officiated by Kevin Kasparek.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.
Funeral services are under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born April 4, 1926, in Indianola, she was the daughter of Oscar and Minnie Lela (Murphy) Burks.
She married James Douglas on March 10, 1943, in McAlester.
She worked as a seamstress for Seampruf and retired from Ray’s Shoe Store where she worked as store manager. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bowling and working in the yard. She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of North Town Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, James Douglas, of the home; daughters, Pat Bard and husband, Don, of McAlester, and Sandy Ailey and husband, Lee Wayne, of Depew; grandchildren, Bobby Tucker and wife, Patti, of Alderson, Christy Shores and husband, Greg, of Kiowa, Larry Tucker and wife, Betsy, of Indianola, and Kevin Long, of McAlester;
foster grandson, Mark Stonebraker, his wife, Denise, and their children, Slade, Chayse, and Lexie, of Chandler, Texas; great-grandchildren, Erin Austin and husband, Aaron, of McAlester; Alex Tucker, of Alderson, Paige Tucker, of Alderson, Bryce Tucker, of Alderson, Ryan Shores and wife, Chandra, of Kiowa, Caden Shores, of Kiowa, Lauren Long, of McAlester, Ross Tucker, of Indianola, Ryan Tucker, of Indianola, Audra Tucker, of Indianola; great-great grandchild, Gabriel Shores, of Kiowa; sister, Oleta Small, of Yukon; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lela Burks; brothers, Olen Burks, Herbert Burks, Gwen Burks, Grady Burks, Carl Burks; sister, Bethel Cornish; and a great-great grandchild, Noah Austin.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Tucker, Larry Tucker, Kevin Long, Ross Tucker, Ryan Tucker, Ryan Shores and Caden Shores.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Holman, Bill Coop, Frank Ball and Earl Weeks.
