Richard Leon Fassino Jr., 45, of McAlester

McALESTER — Richard Leon Fassino Jr., 45, of McAlester, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his home.

A rosary will be recited Monday at 5 p.m. at the Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. A visitation will follow until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Krebs with Father Kevin Willis and Father Leo Ahanotu officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Robert B. Thomas VFW Post 1098.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

He was born Aug. 21, 1967, in Baton Rouge, La., to Richard Leon Sr. and Janice (Adams) Fassino. He married Sonya Ann Craig on Oct. 23, 1993. He served in the United States Air Force and worked for the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. He enjoyed poker, cooking, computers, fishing and sports. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Krebs, the St. Joseph Men’s Club and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Sonya Ann Fassino, of the home; two daughters, MariaLouise Blessing Fassino and MadeLynn Faith Fassino, both of the home; mother, Janice Fassino, of Baton Rouge, La.; and stepmother, Debbie Fassino, of McAlester.

Also, a brother, Anthony Wayne and wife, Jennifer, of Baton Rouge, La.; step-brother, Phillip Shelby Johnson, of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Angela Kaye Fassino, of Baton Rouge, La., Neysa Alaine and Don Bullock, of Baton Rouge, La., and Ashley Brooke Fassino, of McAlester; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michelle and Michael Wortham, of McAlester, Katrina and Monte Scott, of McAlester, Heather Craig-Northam, of McAlester, Michael and Diane Ingrham, of Tulsa, and Kenneth and Kathy Ingrham, of Irving, Texas.

And, godparents, Mike and Amy Binaca, of Baton Rouge, La., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Leon Fassino Sr.; paternal grandparents, Anthony “Tony” and Ila Lucille Fassino; and maternal grandparents, Grover and Mattie Lou Adams.

Pallbearers are Robert Williams, Eddie Smith, Brent Boatright, Phillip Coxsey, James Hollmon and Ron Dusenberry.

Honorary pallbearers are Shannon Rausche, Raymond Northam, Tim Matthews, men at McAAP, Knoghts of Columbus and St. Joseph’s men’s group.
