Linda Sue Coplen

Linda Sue Coplen, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, died Monday June 23, 2014, at home.

The family will meet at Beth Shorts house at 9 a.m. Saturday. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ash Creek Cemetery, by Elm Point, with Pastor Bill Bailey officiating. There will be a lunch following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service of Berryville, Arkansas.

Born Jan. 7, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Gallion, of Krebs, and Sara Gallion Springer, Harrison, Arkansas.

She married Lackey Gene Coplen on May 6, 1973. She worked as a nurses aide most of her life. She had a compassion to take care of others.

She enjoyed to fish, boat, water ski, swim and camp with her family. She and her husband would enjoy night boat rides and night fishing together. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her children. She had a green thumb and could grow anything, especially tomatoes.

Survivors include her husband, Lackey Gene Coplen, of the home; daughter and spouse, Rachel and Steve, of Arkansas; sons and spouse, Lackey Jr. and Betsy, of Arkansas, Mike, of Arkansas, and Shawn and Mindy, of Arkansas; grandchildren, Alexandria (Alley) Coplen, Batesville, Ark., Michael Coplen, Machesney Park, Ill., Dylan Coplen, Mountain Home, Ark., Ashton Coplen, Seth Coplen, Samra Grzyb, Alexa Coplen, and Mathew Coplen, of Fort Walton, Fla., and Kayleigh Coplen; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends; mother, Sara Springer, of Arkansas; brother, Danny Long, of Arizona; sisters and spouse, Debbie and Rob, of Arkansas, Cindy and Butch, of Arkansas, Sharon and Dale, of Oklahoma, and Jessie and Donny, of Oklahoma, and brothers-in-law and spouse, Earl and Shannon, of Oklahoma, and Woody, of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Abilene; father, Jerry Gallion; stepfather, Max Springer; grandmother, Pearl Starr; sister, Carolyn Long; brothers, Charles Frank Parks and Chuck Handly; mother and father-in-law, Wanda and Gid Coplen, and niece, Jessica Henley.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

    Heaven opened its gates for Bette Jo Williams, 84, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, following a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. Bette lived in McAlester, OK, for 60 years. She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
