Algie Harmon Ennis, 73, died Feb. 18, 2013, after a long illness.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home, Shertz, Texas.
Graveside services and interment will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
Born Sept. 18, 1939, in Pittsburg, he was the son of Ray and Ina (Murphree) Ennis.
He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1979.
After retiring from the civil service in 2002, he and his wife of 53 years, Lareta (Barkdoll) Ennis enjoyed traveling in their motor home with their pets.
He was an only child and was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Lareta (Rita), of the home; two daughters, Joy (Jonny) Brown and Joni (Tony) Salazar; and, three grandsons, Jake Rutherford, Jess Rutherford and Dean Salazar.
