Wanda M. McNully, 89, of McAlester, died Friday May 17, 2013, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park with Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
She was born on Sept. 21, 1923, in Hanna to John Aaron and Laura Bell (Self) Snyder. Her family moved to Kiowa when she was an infant and she grew up and attended school there. She married George D. McNully in June of 1946 in Ft. Smith, Ark. They originally settled in Savanna, and in 1951, they moved to McAlester where she has lived since then. She worked at Seamprufe/Komar in the bundling department for 37 years. She had a real passion for quilting and made many keepsake quilts for family members through the years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Clyde Wooten of Alpena, Ark.; son and a daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jean McNully, of Tannehill; grandchildren, Jerry Wooten, Colonel Mark Wooten and wife Diana, Melinda Lee Russell and husband Jerry, Kellie Dawn Jenkins and husband Greg, John Aaron McNully and wife Sally, Jason McNully and wife Tamara, Jackson Wooten, Kattie Wooten, great-grandchildren, Bethany Sipe, Allison Russell, Cole Jenkins, Travis McNully, Ryan McNully, Jerie McNully, Taryn McNully; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in the death by her parents; her husband, George died on July 1, 2008; sisters, Mary Woods, Pauline Meadows, Jesse Morrison, and Jewel McElhaney; brothers, Jim and Tom Snyder; and a niece, Oleta McElhaney.
