Galen Goodwin Clunn

McALESTER — Galen Goodwin Clunn, 49, of Hartshorne, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartshorne with the Rev. Clint Pope officiating, assisted by Bob Pate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.

Born Jan. 12, 1965, in Talihina, he was the son of Arlis Goodwin and Wanda Jean (Millus) Clunn. He graduated from Hartshorne High School in 1983 and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant.

He worked at Goodwins 1Stop for numerous years.

He coached Little League for many years and was an avid Hartshorne Miner fan.

He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.

Survivors include three sons, Garrett Clunn, of Hartshorne, Gavin Clunn, of Hartshorne, and Trent Clunn, of Hartshorne; stepson, Tyler Gwin, of Hartshorne; granddaughter, Kambre Gwin.

Also, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gwenda and Kevin Jernigen, of Hartshorne, and Gloria and John Sirmans, of Hartshorne; fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law, Don and Patty Jones, of Hartshorne, and Lloyd and Sandy Herndon, of Hartshorne; brother-in-law, Steven Jones, of Hartshorne.

And, aunts and uncles, Ruby and Jim Burns, of the Jack Fork Community, Brent Clunn, of Hartshorne, Mary Clunn, of Hartshorne, and Lonnie and Mary Lou Clunn, of Haileyville; mother of Trent and Tyler, Deena Clunn, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lori Clunn; son, Grayson Clunn, and brother, Arlis Glen “Curly” Clunn.

Pallbearers will be David Lerblance, Monte Johnson, John Honeywell, Don Fernandez, Jeff Hopper, Danny Trueblood, Rick Pingleton and Donnie Riley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Brannon, Danny McKay, Tommy Morrow, Mike Mass, Micah Mass and the “Jack Fork Gang” and sheriffs.

Memorials may be made to First National Bank in Hartshorne in the name of Benny Mattioda for the benefit of the Clunn boys.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
