Jerry R. Weiher, died Thursday, June 20, 2013.
Born May 6, 1941, in Little Onion, he was the son of Lester Weiher and Nora Nordman-Weiher-Shackleford. He married Virginia Miller on May 23, 1959.
He joined the National Guard in Arkansas and then the United States Marine Corps in 1959. He served one tour in Japan and 16 months in Vietnam.
Upon leaving the Marine Corps, he and his wife moved to Moore until 1992, then moved back to the Longtown area, were he lived for the remainder of his life.
He was a member of Palestine Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, of the home; his mother, Nora, of Savanna; his daughter, Deborah, her husband, Dick; his two sons, Kevin and his wife, Nicole, and Jerry Lee and his wife, Darla; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Chris, Matthew, Kari, Kenneth, Sheena, Ty Austin and Brandon, and six great-grandchildren Gino, Grayson, Kaelyn, Noah, and twins, Jacksen and Jacoby.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester; his stepfather, John Shackleford, and three brothers Doyle, Roger and Dickie.
