Mary (South) Vermillion, 71, of Hartshorne, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Beare Manor Nursing Center in Hartshorne.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sulphur Cemetery, south of Hartshorne, with the Rev. Don Russell officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
The family will gather after the graveside services at First Pentecostal Church in Hartshorne.
Born Aug. 4, 1942, in Hartshorne, she was the daughter of Belmer and Isabelle (Zukosky) South. She worked for Oklahoma Aerotronics in Hartshorne and Rockwell in McAlester.
She loved gardening, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Hartshorne.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Vermillion, of Hartshorne, and John Vermillion, of Hartshorne; three daughters and a son-in-law, Janette and Mike Ballman, Lavaca, Ark., Linda Vermillion, of Tulsa, and Caryn Vermillion, of Skiatook.
Also, 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Junior South, of McAlester, and Larry South, of McAlester, and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Rosie and Paul Carney, of Hartshorne, Wanda Robertson, of Hartshorne, and Evelyn Carney, of Hartshorne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Laura South, and a nephew, Keith South.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Daniel Vermillion, Ethan Vermillion, Alex Ballman and Shaun Ballman.
