Sammy Sterling Osborne

McALESTER — Sammy Sterling Osborne, 59, of Krebs, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at his home.

A rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. today at the Bishop Chapel of Memories led by the Rev. Leonard Higgins.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Monday at the Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. Leonard Higgins.

Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Born Dec. 1, 1952,  he was the son of Samuel Moses and Lula Pearl (Edmonds) Osborne. He graduated from McAlester High School in 1971 and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College.

He married Deborah Ann Butler on Jan. 12, 1973, at St. John’s Church. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard for eight years.

He worked for PSO for 20 years before retiring. He then worked for Spirit in Logistical Support. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed knife making, hunting, fishing and he enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Osborne of the home; Hisfather, Sam Osborne and wife, Judy of McAlester; two sons, Jeremy Osborne of Yukon and Chris Osborne and wife, Becky    of Haileyville; three grandchildren, Zachary Osborne, Connor Osborne and Breanna Osborne; one sister, Tara Best of McAlester; two brothers, Chuck Osborne and wife Brenda of McAlester, Orville “O.J” Osborne McAlester, and mother-in law, Jeanene Butler of McAlester. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Pearl Osborne; father-in-law, Lowell Butler and brother-in-law, Stephen Butler.

Active pallbearers will be: Roger Melton, Raymond Cowen, Scott James, J.D. Martin, Andy Woods, Dennis Howell.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Jeremy Kennon, Ty Osborne, Blake Best, PSO and Western Company.
