James Andrew Anderson Jr., died Saturday at Promise Hospital in Paramount, Calif.
A military memorial will be at 11:30 a.m. July 2 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
Born Oct. 3, 1938, in McAlester, he was the son of James Brooker and Bertha Mae Jackson Anderson. He grew up in McAlester and graduated from L’Ouverture High School in 1956.
After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force, serving from July 6, 1956 to Dec. 21, 1962. He was honorably discharged.
After moving to California in 1962, he went to work as an electrical engineer for Southern California Edison and had worked for them since.
He accepted Christ at his home in October 2010.
Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Anderson, Carson, Calif.; a son, Marquis Anderson, Murietta, Calif.; a very special friend, Queen Pritchard, Carson, Calif.; three grandchildren, Devonta, Dominique and Justin.
Also, two sisters, Clara Anderson Caver and Howard, Fort Worth, Texas, and Janell Anderson Brooks and Gaylord, of McAlester; two brothers, Joe L. Anderson and Linda, of Tulsa, and David M. Anderson, of McAlester; one aunt, Helen Lawrence, of McAlester, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margarite Anderson Cooper.
