Burks David Williams Jr., died June 9, 2013.
Viewing of the body will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at McAlester North Town Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Dec. 10, 1961, in Flint, Mich., he was the first son of seven children born to Burks and Anne Williams. His mother moved the family to McAlester to be closer to her relatives. As a child he was playfully labeled “Tran” by his love for trains and his mispronunciation of the word train.
He received his education at McAlester High School but before he graduated he decided to enlist into the United States Air Force and married Maulcia Braxton. They had three children and later moved back to McAlester.
He later married Tycenne Harris on Dec. 5, 1993, and they had seven children. He worked many jobs and had a few setbacks.
Survivors include his father, Burks D. Williams Sr.; his daughters, Athena Williams, Champaigne Williams, Tiara Jones, Trenee Williams and Taylor Williams; his sons, Burks D. Williams III “Trey”, Barry Curtis, Tyrann Williams, Tristan Williams, Titus Williams and Tyler Williams; his sisters, Cheri Williams, Kay Coney, Kim Robinson (Kenneth) and Rhonda Williams-Henderson; his brothers, Jimmy Williams, Adrian Williams, Brian Williams, Shelton Williams, James Williams and Bruce Williams; nine grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Hyatt; daughters, Easter Williams, Stephanie Collins and Trista Williams; his brother, Van Williams, and other loving relatives.
