Kenneth Ray Melton, 59, of Indianola, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Roswell, N.M.
A graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Red Oak Cemetery in Canadian with John Shirley officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
He was born on June 30, 1953, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Edward Eugene and Ida Mae (Anderson) Melton. He graduated from Anadarko High School and entered the U.S. Army after high school. He served in the Army for seven years. He worked in farming and later entered the oil and gas industry.
He married Loutreca Bilyeu on Sept. 10, 1982, in Anadarko. They moved to Eastern Oklahoma and lived in the Indianola community since 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Loutreca Melton, of the home; his sons, Dale Edward Melton and wife, Kimberly, of Orlando, Florida, Tanner Bleu Melton and wife, Jennifer, of Stigler, and Tyde Forest Melton and wife, Whitney, of Indianola; brothers, Royce Melton, of McAlester, Johnnie Melton, of Camegie, and Tony Melton, of Anadarko; sisters, Sherry Newton, of Marlow, and Debbie Jones, of Allen; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a special relative, Ann Hudson, in 2006, and many aunts and uncles.
