Lois Murphree, 86, formerly of Daisy, died Monday, May 6, 2013, in Durant.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Aug. 9, 1926, in Pittsburg, she was the daughter of Frank Stephenson and Josie (Rice) Stephenson. She married Clyde Murphree on Dec. 22, 1949.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and being outside.
Survivors include her son, Lonnie Murphree and wife, Sherry, of Durant; daughter, Janie Purkins and husband, Billy, of Caddo; sister, Lillian Brines, Seattle, Wash.
Also, four grandchildren, Brian Murphree and wife, Kelly, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jennifer Browning and husband, John, of Durant, Ethan Purkins and wife, Whitney, of Stillwater, and Aaron Purkins, of Caddo.
And, seven great-grandchildren, Josh Murphree and wife, Laurie, Hunter Murphree and wife, Brook, Kiersti Murphree, Brittany Barnoski, Darcie Welch, Emily Browning and David Browning, and two great-great-grandchildren, Landon and Colton Murphree.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Murphree, and three brothers, John, Alfred and Junior Stephenson.
