Vincent 'Vince' Buster Ardese

McALESTER — Vincent “Vince” Buster Ardese, 58, of McAlester, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at McAlester Regional Health Care Center.

Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jones-Harkins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Jones-Harkins Chapel with the Rev. Charles Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Station Cemetery in the Damon Community. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Harkins Funeral Home of Wilburton.

Born Oct. 10, 1954, in Tahlequah, he was the son of Joseph and Agnes Ardese. He grew up in Wilburton and graduated from Panola High School with the Class of 1973. He also attended Oklahoma Eastern State College.

He married Jan Fisher on Sept. 12, 1997, in Fort Smith, Ark.  He worked for the City of Wilburton, Latimer County Sheriff’s Department and then at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary as a correctional officer. He retired in 1999 as a sergeant.

He enjoyed baseball and basketball and was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jan, of the home; daughters, Tori Ardese, of the home, Angela Hawkins and husband, Asa, of McAlester, and Samantha Pinley and husband, Bobby, of  Buffalo Valley; sons, Buster Ardese and wife, Joelene, of Wilburton, and David Welch and Ravenelle, of McAlester; grandchildren, Jacob, Alex, Axel, Angelo, Natalie, Garrett, Brandon and Cooper; brothers, Mike Griffitts and wife, Lisa, of Moore, Anthony Ardese and wife, Janie, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Elmer Ardese, of Tuskahoma; sister, Rosalie Ardese, of Tuskahoma; aunt, Katie Young, Ray Town, Mo., and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Jimmy Joe, Carl and Joseph.

Pallbearers will be Mikie Griffitts, Donnie Griffitts, Chris Griffitts, Jeff Griffitts, Col. Tray Ardese, Bret Ardese, Eric Ardese, Nick Ardese, David Welch, Bobby Pinley, Brandon Pinley, Garrett Pinley, Bob Graff and Asa Hawkins.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
