Jimmie Margaret Benson Gossett Clark,

McALESTER — Jimmie Margaret Benson Gossett Clark, 92, of McAlester, died Saturday, September 7, 2013.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Chip Lott. Burial will follow at Green Wood Cemetery, in Eufaula, Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service

She was born on June 5, 1921, in Fairview to Thomas E. and Lula Melton Benson. Her family moved to Eufaula where she attended schools and graduated from Eufaula High School in 1939.

She married Rell Gossett in November of that year. They had one daughter, Marjorie Dell Gossett. Rell preceded her in death on January 3, 1942. She worked in the McIntosh County Assessors Office and the County Attorney’s Office in Eufaula and later married Edward L. Clark of Canadian on November 30, 1944.

In 1955, she was employed at the C.R. Anthonys Store for 14 ½ years. After that time she was employed at the Pittsburg County Treasurer’s Office until she retired in 1983. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McAlester as well as attending Choate Prairie Baptist Church and The Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Gary Frost of Sulphur; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie, Jr. and Carol Clark of McAlester, grandchildren, Kerri and Robert Geiger of  Logan, Utah, Ronnie D., Jr. and Susan Sales  of Quapah, Max & April Clark of Tannehill, Joel and Darcy Kerns of McAlester, Travis and Margie Williams of McAlester, great-grandchildren, Christie Knighten and husband, Chris, Carson Geiger, Cody Sales, Makayla Clark, Zachary Clark, Zayne Clark, Katie Talley and husband, Jacob, Jaelon Kerns and Braden Kerns; numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her Parents; her husband, Edward L. Clark on October 14, 2003; 4 Brothers, Harry Benson, Albert Benson, Earl Benson and Walter Benson and 1 Sister, Anna Louise Barton.

Pallbearers will be Max Clark, Joel Kerns, Travis Williams, Ronnie D. Sales Jr., Cody Sales and Jacob Talley.

    Heaven opened its gates for Bette Jo Williams, 84, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, following a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. Bette lived in McAlester, OK, for 60 years. She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
