McALESTER —  Edna Mae (Strange) Sweet, 94, of Hartshorne, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Beare Manor Nursing Home.

Family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home, Hartshorne.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Brumley-Mills Chapel, Hartshorne, officiated by Phil Lay.

Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hartshorne.

Services are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home, Hartshorne.

Born Nov. 17, 1918, in Hartshorne, she was the daughter of James and Cora (Hicks) Strange.

She lived most of her life in Hartshorne and married Claud T. Sweet on Nov. 12, 1938, in McAlester.

She was a member of the Haileyville Church of Christ and in later years attended Haileyville Christian Church with her daughter.

She enjoyed playing games with her family, bingo and playing the harmonica.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles C. and Sue Sweet, of Azle, Texas; and one daughter and son-in-law, Francine and Jerry O’Nesky, of Haileyville; grandchildren and spouses, Jerry and Sheryl Crabtree, of Haileyville, Wade and Lisa Crabtree, of Haileyville, Dean and Marla O’Nesky, of Thomas, Denise San Filippo, of Kent, Wash., Charles W. and Lisa Sweet, of Azle, Texas, and Tina and Wes Robinson of Decatur, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; and, two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud T. Sweet; parents, James and Cora Strange; brothers, Ernest, Jack and Billy Strange.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Crabtree, Wade Crabtree, Dean O’Nesky, Brock Crabtree, Christopher Crabtree and Charles W. Sweet.
