McALESTER — Vera Wanena Roberson, 80, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Eastar Health System in Muskogee.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. James Crowson officiating.

A private inurnment will be held at Arpelar Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Savanna to Arthur S. and Vida Dement Williams. Her family lived on what is now the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant and she attended Savanna Schools.

She was a seamstress for a number of years before working as a supervisor for Charles Komar and Sons clothing manufacturing. She retired in 1995 after more than 20 years as a supervisor. She was a Pittsburg County resident for all her life and enjoyed working on puzzles, reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Weaver, of Sperry, and Cheryl Ott, of McAlester; a son, Timothy Roberson, of Sapulpa; grandchildren, Celeste Ott, Heather Ott, Brice Ott, Sirikit Roberson, Tara Tugman, Casandra Vallejo and Ecco Roberson; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Delca Williamson, and brothers, Coy Williams and Donald Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Vida Williams; her husband, Albert Roberson; a son, Johney Roberson; six brothers and one sister.
