Elizabeth Lucille Mullen

McALESTER — Elizabeth Lucille Mullen, 92, formerly of McAlester, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, in Plano Texas.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bill Shields officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in McAlester. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Jan. 7, 1922, in Hartshorne, she was the daughter of the Rev. William Alvey Watson and Ethel Mozelle Skates Watson. She graduated from Wilburton High School in the Class of 1939 as president of her class. After graduation, she moved to McAlester and resided there for the majority of her life.

She married James William Mullen on June 20, 1942, in McAlester. She was a homemaker for more than 50 years.

Her hobbies included quilting, needlework, playing bridge, cooking and hosting family functions in her home.

She was active in the Eugene Field PTA and a member of several bridge groups. She and her husband were the originators of the annual North Town Picnic.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church for more than 65 years.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Linda Mullen, Hot Springs Village, Ark., Bill and Cindy Lemoine Mullen, Frisco, Texas, and Robert Mullen, of Owasso; former daughter-in-law, Donna Mullen, Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren, Dr. David Mullen and wife, Dana, Bill Mullen and wife, Michelle, Bradley Mullen and wife, Rene, Amanda Belk and husband, Erich, and Marlon Lemoine; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel and Dianna Mullen, William “Price” Mullen, Braden Mullen, Rylee Belk, Addyson Belk and Cullen Lemoine; sister, Wilma Edwards, of McAlester; sister-in-law, DeNoya Watson, La Habra, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Mullen; her parents; five brothers, Walter Watson, Arley Watson, Horace Leon Watson, Glen Watson and Roy Watson; sisters, Beatrice Parkinson, Flo Palmer and Oleta Olson; nephew, Bob Parkinson; niece, Alice Parkinson McAlvain; sister-in-law, Hazel Mullen Beams, and brother-in-law, Ralph Mullen.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
