Davette Justice Minyard

McALESTER — Davette Justice Minyard, 98, of McAlester, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

Family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at Bishop Funeral Service

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Bill Kirk and Steve Mayhew officiating.

Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Arrangments are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

She was born on August 26, 1915, in Peaceable Valley, to George and Flora Williams.

She married Lemmie Justice on February 22, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1962. Davette then married Ocie Minyard on February 9, 1967. He also preceded her in death in May of 1984. She worked for Woods Drug Store for 33 years. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and she enjoyed fishing, gardening and her flowers.

She is survived by her son, Roy Justice, and wife, Ann, of McAlester; daughters, Doris Green, of McAlester, Patricia Chelette, and husband, David, of Sterlington, La., Judith Overstreet, and husband, Jewel, of Eldorado, Ark., and Joyce Jones     of Irving, Texas; grandchildren, Debbie Taylor, Bobby Wise, Diana Parsons, and husband Ron, David Wise, and wife, Mona, Lynette Strouse, and husband Mike, Larry Kelley, and wife, Sandy, Jimmy Kelley, Diane Lewis, and husband Ken, Phillip Loe, and wife, Shelley, James Loe, and wife, Gwen, Angelia Vines, and husband, Ricky, Butch Justice, and wife, Ginney, Bob Jusice, and wife, Melissa, Jim Fussell, and wife, Leslie, Jeannie Atkinsn, and husband, Pete, Gwen Hill, and husband, Tommy; 28 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren, three great-great-great-grandchildre.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kermit Williams and Kirtley Williams; sisters, Georgia Marksberry, Beulah Sparkman, Addie McConnell, Mayme Ketcherside, Ruth Mills and Vie  Cartlidge.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Loe, James Loe, Butch Justice, Bob Justice, Jimmy Fussell and Gary Cartlidge.
