Sherry Jean (Warren) Satterfield was born on May 31, 1955 to Addell and Joyce (Leird) Warren in Stigler, Oklahoma. She was baptized in the Christian faith becoming a member of the First Baptist Church of Kinta at a young age.
As a young child she was known for her beautiful long blonde hair and sunny smile. Her favorite activities were sewing (starting with Barbie doll clothes) and reading. These were hobbies she enjoyed all her life. As an adult she always had a book or sewing project close by. She made beautiful quilts and cross-stitch pictures for family and friends.
Following high school graduation she began nurses training, eventually obtaining her registered nurses’ license. Her 25-year nursing career was spent primarily at McAlester General Hospital. Ill health forced her retirement in 2003. She was well-liked and missed by her many co-workers.
In November of 1972 she and Robert Satterfield were united in marriage. To this union three children were born. Children and family were all important to Sherry and she fought a courageous battle to live long enough to see grandchildren. Among her last words was a thanksgiving to God for allowing her to do so.
We will love and miss her everyday of our lives. Surviving her are a daughter, Robin Burgess and husband, Charles, of Quinton; two sons, James Satterfield and partner, Sherry Ary, of Enterprise, and Matthew Satterfield and wife, Stephanie, of Quinton; her grandsons, Noah Burgess and Little Matty Satterfield, both of Quinton; step-grandchildren, Lindsey Burgess, of Warner, Emma Talley Satterfield, of Quinton, Katie Grace and Jacob and Whitney Nelson, of Warner; Sister, Shelia Tuley and husband, Dan, of Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and brother, Steve Warren, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
