D.W. 'Willie' Coffee

McALESTER — D.W. “Willie” Coffee, 88, of McAlester, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at Walnut Grove Living Center.

Private burial was held Oct. 4 at Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.

Born Oct. 3, 1925, in Indianola, he was the son of Dale B. and Ollie (Garner) Coffee. He attended school in Indianola.

He married Doris E. West on June 3, 1949, in McAlester.

He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He was discharged May 6, 1946, with the rank of sergeant.

He was a farmer and rancher in the Indianola area for many years.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kay Coffee, of McAlester; two grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Jackie Coffee, of McAlester, and Jennifer and Mike Heinicke, of McAlester; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Coffee, Tanner Coffee, Keaton Lozano and Case Heinicke; two sisters, Lena Hopkins of Edmond, and Doris Davis, Grand Junction, Colo., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; two brothers, Royce Coffee and E.R. Coffee, and one sister, Jewell Denton.
