Cynthia “Cindi” McKenna

McALESTER — Cynthia “Cindi” McKenna, 53, of Red Oak, died Thursday, October 3, 2013, at home.

Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Panola High School Auditorium, in Panola. With the Rev. Johnny Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Baldwin Cemetery, in Cravens.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jones Harkins Funeral Home.

She was born January 24, 1960 in Red Oak to Harold and Josie (Watkins) Jennings. She attended Panola High School.

She married Dwight McKenna on December 31, 1985, at her momma’s house in Cravens.

She was appointed as the Latimer County Tax Assessor in 2010 and resigned on June 30, 2013, for health reasons.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight of the home; mother, Josie Jennings, of Red Oak; children, Jerod Brown, and wife, Greta, of Cravens, Jason Brown and wife, Gina, of Wilburton, Brittany McKenna, of Wilburton, Kevin McKenna, and wife, Mindy, of Blanchard, Tonya McMichael, and husband, Sean of Enid, and Tina Hess, and husband, Jerry, of Owasso; grandchildren, Jera Brown, Josie Brown, Jerod Dawson Brown, Lane Brown, Colton Peterson, Preslee Rose Helgeson, Russell Dean Humburg, Zoey McMichael, Serena Brown, Tyler McKenna, Macy McMichael, Lane Brown, Gavin McKenna, Emily McMichael, Heath McKenna; sisters, Ginny Alford and husband, Roy, of Red Oak, Peggy Sperl, and husband, Carl, of Free Port, Texas, Debbie Ardese of Red Oak and Nancy Gwin, and husband, Eldon, of Wilburton, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Jennings, sister, Patsy Sadler, brother, Bobby Jennings and grandson, Cole Wayne McMichael.

Pallbearers will be, Howard Blankenship, Jerod Dewitt, Stan Vinson, Justin McKenna, Cary Albright and Justin Adams.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Russell Dean Humburg, Colton Peterson, Lane Brown, Tyler McKenna, Gavin McKenna, Heath McKenna and Dawson Brown.
