Samuel Lee Collins, 56, of McAlester, died Sunday, April 21, 2013.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Chaney’s Memorial Chapel. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney Harkins Funeral Home.
He was born Jan. 8, 1957, in Barnsdall, Ark., to James Franklin Collins and Lola Maxine Collins.
He joined the United States Marines in 1978, serving his Country until he was honorably discharged.
He married Melva Jean Craig on Jan. 17, 1993. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2002. He enjoyed fishing, working around the house and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was always laughing and having fun.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Collins of Spiro, Samantha Bolt and husband, Jimmy of McAlester, Tonya Pilkington of Paris, Texas, Michael Douthit and wife, Lisa of Spiro, Joey Collins of McAlester, Randall Craig of Oklahoma City, Melinda Dry of Poteau and Terrell Dry of Atlanta, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; three sisters; a special friend, Angela Bedford and husband, Eugene and their children, Anthony, Brian and Michael Bedford; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Linda and a grandson, Nikki Aiden Lee Collins.
