McALESTER — The Rev. William W. “Bill” Presnell Jr., 91, of Oklahoma City, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vondel Smith Chapel. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Vondel Smith Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.

A member of the “Greatest Generation,” he proudly served his country during World War II as part of the United States Army. He took part in the campaigns in New Guinea, the Philippines and served with the occupation forces in Japan at the close of the war.

He owned and operated Presnell Glass Company in McAlester for many years before become a minister full time in 1968.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of the home; three daughters, Janice Bays, Linda De Spain and Billie Presnell, all of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Jack Presnell, of McAlester.
