Ricky Howard Nepveux, 59, of Oklahoma City, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services were at 12 today at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Dr. Charles Neff officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born June 28, 1953, in McAlester, he was the son of Ralph and Wilma (Holladay) Nepveux. He had special needs and lived with his parents on West Carl Albert Parkway in McAlester until they preceded him in death. He then moved to Oklahoma City to be near other relatives.
When he was young, he enjoyed fishing in area lakes with his parents and he spent decades rocking in his green rocker on the front porch, waving to his many friends that passed by.
In the late 1970s he worked for his late uncle, James E. “Bullet” Knight, at McAlester Wholesale Company cleaning and sweeping the warehouse.
Survivors include a nephew, Nicholas Nepveux and his wife, Leslie, Lawrence, Kan.; niece, Angela Rae English and her children, Elizabeth, Abigail, Claire and Katie; cousins, Andrea Knight Wilson, Leesburg, Va., Jessica, Brian and Seth Gilliam, Bemidji, Minn., John Myers, Virginia Beach, Va., Linda and Burl Self, Alexandria, Va., Sarah, Brent and Becca Kyler, Virginia Beach, Va., Don and Gwen Walker and Traci Walker, all of Atoka, and Todd Walker and his wife, Catharine, Lake Charles, La.; aunts, Mildred E. Knight, and Lou Dugas and her family, in Louisiana; sister-in-law, Janise Nepveux, of Oklahoma City, and special friends, Sandra Gilliam, Sheila and Rick Curtis, LaDawn Wilkins, Chris Hale, Pam Manos and Mona Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Wilma Nepveux; a brother, Dr. David Nepveux, and his grandparents, including Wynonia Walker Holladay.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
