Ray Francis Voils, 96, of Eufaula, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eufaula First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Brannon and Mike Scifres officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory of Eufaula.
Born May 19, 1916, in Stidham, he was the son of James and Iva Ethel (Pratt) Voils. He attended school at Canadian and Eufaula Public Schools.
He married Vada Lorraine Bass on Aug. 5, 1940, and she preceded him in death in 2009.
He worked as a supervisor for the Tulsa Corp of Engineers. After retiring from the Tulsa Corp of Engineers, he returned to his lifelong love of farming and ranching, which he did until his passing.
He was a member of the Eufaula Masonic Lodge No. 1, the Bedouin Shrine Temple in Muskogee, where he served in the Mounted Patrol, and the Scottish Rites Consistory in McAlester. He was also the past president of the McIntosh County Shrine Club and the past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Eufaula. He was also an honorary church council member, a supporter of UMW, the Youth Department, and a UMM member.
Survivors include one son, Ray Voils Jr., of Sallisaw; two daughters, Iva George and husband, David, of Canadian, and Judy Smith and husband, Floyd, of Eufaula.
Also, six grandchildren, Denny Smith and wife, Chelsea, John George and wife, Audrea, Ingrid Smith, Nicole Cook, Scotty Voils, and James Voils.
And, 10 great-grandchildren, Chelsi Moody, Ty Fells, Wyatt Fells, Noah Cook, Cheyenne Fells, Jordyn Cook, Rebekah George, Sarah George, Mallory Smith, and Sadie Voils; one great-great-grandchild, Briar James; two nieces, Peggy Ann Brown and Cathy Lyn Miller, and one nephew, Butch Voils.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Iva Voils; one daughter, Joan Longstreet; two brothers, Jimmy and Vaughn, and one sister, Opal Brown.
Pallbearers will b Denny Smith, John George, James Voils, Dondi Pratt, Randy Green and Beau Moody.
Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Rains, Sonny King, Doug Harper, Jimmy Padgett, Jerry Milton, Bob King, Clifford McElhaney, Dr. Kenneth Miller, Dewey Grigsby, Patrick Smith, Wes Smith, Rex Smith, and the member of the Eufaula Masonic Lodge No. 1.
