McALESTER — Gina Gail Bennett, 49, of McAlester, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at McAlester Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 6 p.m. today.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 405 W. Electric in McAlester, with Bishop Troy Adkins officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born July 1, 1964, in Little Rock, Ark., she was the daughter of Gene and Shirley (Batts) Weatherford. She married Glen Bennett Jr. on Feb. 18, 1992, in Bisbee, Ariz. They made their home in Bisbee and Silver City, N.M. before moving to McAlester.

She worked at McAlester Regional Medical Center for a time as the PBX operator. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crafting, jewelry making, cooking and helping others.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was also a former member of the McAlester quilting guild.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Bennett Jr., of McAlester; son, Glen Bennett III and fiancé, Audris Nazareno, of McAlester; parents, Gene and Shirley Weatherford, of Adamson; sister, Lisa Cearley, of Adamson; nephews, Cameron Cearley, of Adamson, and Matthew Weatherford, of Hartshorne; uncle, Bill Weatherford and wife, Wanda, Denver, Colo.; great-niece, Dakota Weatherford, and great-nephew, Logan Weatherford.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Destra Bennett; grandmother, Hazel Hobbs Batts; grandfather, U.J. Batts; grandmother, Oma Lee Padgett, and grandfather, Oley C. Weatherford.

Pallbearers will be Glen Bennett Jr., Glen Bennett III, Stephen Shiver, Micheal Duffy, Matthew Weatherford and Cameron Cearly.
