Donald G. “Spoons” Morgan, 60, of Haileyville, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at McAlester Regional Health Center.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Oct. 22, 1952, in Bakersfield, Calif., he was the son of Vencil and Ruby Irene (Morrow) Morgan. He was raised in Bishop, Calif., since the age of 2. He graduated from Bishop Union High School and worked for Safeway, then worked for Union Carbide for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, baseball and spending time with family and friends.
He had lived in the Hartshorne and Haileyville area since 1997 and worked at the Army Ammunition Depot for several years.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Jesse Boyle, of Clovis, N.M., and Krista and Jesus Calixtopiza, of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren; his mother, Irene Morgan, of the home; bother, Jerry Morgan, of Eufaula, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vencil Morgan, and a brother, Ron Morgan.
