McALESTER — Beatrice C. Kimp, 94, of McAlester, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at McAlester Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel, officated by the Rev. Don Smith.

Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.

Born on Aug. 30, 1918, in Gotebo, she was the daughter of Albert and Ella (Gibson) Bourne.

She grew up in Gotebo and married Lester Kimp.

Her husband was a minister and ministered at Second Baptist Church for 14 years.

The couple moved often to follow the ministry.

She was active in church life, often as a song leader.

She lived in McAlester for more than 30 years.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and the garden club and enjoyed crocheting.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of McAlester.

She is survived by one grandaughter and her husband, Carolyn and O. C. Hawkins, of McAlester; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; her parents; three sisters; and a grandson, Lester Hendershot.
