Chad Jaylon Browne

McALESTER — Chad Jaylon Browne, 41, of Wilburton, died Friday, July 26, 2013, in Haskell County.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Park Road Church of Christ with Frank Wilson officiating. The eulogy will be by Bill Carter. Burial will be at Wilburton City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Harkins Funeral Home of Wilburton.

Born March 30, 1972, in McAlester, he was the son of Spanky and Jackie (Gilbert) Browne. He grew up on the Browne Ranch north of Wilburton.

He graduated from Wilburton High School with the Class of 1990 and continued his education at Oklahoma State University Tech, where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1992.

Survivors include his two sons, Clayton Lane Browne and Colt Laramy Browne, of Red Oak; stepdaughter, Madison Hanks, of Wilburton; his parents, Jackie and Spanky Browne, of Wilburton.

Also, his brother, Cody Browne and wife, J’Lyn, and their two children, Dillan and Jacy, all of Wilburton; his sister, Chari Hood and husband, Travis, and their three children, Tanner, Casen and Kaytee, all of Wilburton; maternal grandfather, James William Gilbert, of Checotah, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clayton and Stella Browne; maternal grandmother, Lera Gilbert; uncle, Tommy Browne; cousin, Tracy Browne, and fiancé, Meaghan Hunt.

Pallbearers will be Chad Swaffard, Jackie Jones, Jayson Haskett, Sam Walden, Roger Taylor and Jack Hicks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jearld Battles, Leland Walker, Charles Keith, Danny Keith, James Keith, Glynn Whitman, Tommy Cogburn and Bob Browne.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
