Arthur “Art” Lloyd Nave Sr., 58, of Mountain Home, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his home following an illness.
A celebration of his life will be in Kingman, Ariz. on May 3, 2014, and another in McAlester May 10, 2014. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1955, in McAlester, the son of Dewey Eldon and Jean Ann Nave.
He join the U.S. Army on Sept. 30, 1974, and served five years. He married Mary Dowe in 1976 and they had seven children together. He worked with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona as a deputy sheriff. He retired after 20 years with MCSO.
His hobbies included traveling, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and spoiling his German Shepard, Vander.
He is survived by his children, Leslie, and husband, Jon Barnes, Linda, and husband, Rande Schulze, Charles Nave, the Rev. Arthur Nave Jr., Laura, and husband, Richard Gosser, Lois, and husband, David Walters, Joseph, and wife, Emily Nave; his dog, Vander; siblings; Naomi, and husband, Joseph Kuster, Phyllis, and husband, Dick Welch, Dale, and wife, Karen Nave, John, and wife, Juliet Nave, Cecil, and wife, Myra Nave, Ron, and wife, Joy Nave, Sharon, and husband, Leon Broyles, Howard, and wife, Amy Nave; 12 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary.
