McALESTER — W.E. Manry, 77, died Friday, Feb. 7,  2014, in Ennis, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at J.E. Keever Mortuary.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at J.E. Keever Chapel with the Rev. Michael Howard officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Born Feb. 18, 1936, in Avant, he was the son of Cecil Lee and Glendean (Hicks) Manry. He grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Eufaula High School.

He married Jean Satterwhite on Dec. 6, 1958, and they made their home originally in San Antonio, Texas, Oklahoma, back to San Antonio and finally to Ennis in 1961.

He served his country proudly in the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.

He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 2008 as a conductor.

He enjoyed fishing, working in the pecan orchard and doing landscaping.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Manry; sons, Mason Manry and wife, Patricia, Morgan Manry and companion, Craig Kinne, Michael Manry and wife, Shannon, Dino Manry and wife, Bridget, and Seth Manry and wife, Jennifer.

Also, one daughter, Leslie Manry and companion, Amy Allen; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin Manry, Rex Manry and Randy Manry, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Joy.
