Mary was involved in the Eastern Star Organization but most of her time and dedication was given to the First Baptist Church of McAlester. A loving Christian woman who loved and cared for the babies in the nursery for many generations. She spent evenings and weekends on the family ranch working cattle, burning brush and directing crews for hauling hay. Although daily business consumed much time, she never missed the sports and activities of her children, grandchildren and then later her great grandson.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Alta Nelson. Also preceding her were her father and mother-in-law, J.M. Miller Sr. and Mabel Luttrell Miller, and brother-in-law O’Dell (Sy) Miller and sister-in-law Fern Miller Ragan.

Mary is survived by her husband of 64 years J.M. Miller, Jr., of the home; son Terry Don Miller and wife Sue Miller; daughter Debbie Miller Watkins; and daughter Karla Miller Brock and husband Steve Brock all of McAlester. She has one sister Helen Nelson Burns, who also lives in McAlester. Grandchildren include, Evan Miller and wife Pam, Neeley Miller, J.P. Miller, Chessie Miller; Colin Watkins and wife Amy, Michael Watkins and wife Mikah; Blair Brock Green and husband Cameron and Lane Brock.
