McALESTER — Steven Simmons, 39, of Adamson, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ash Creek Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Chris Brannon officiating. Burial will be at Ash Creek Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.

Born Jan. 26, 1975, in McAlester, he was the son of Harold Wesley and Lila Dianna (Bender) Simmons. He grew up in Adamson and had lived there all his life. He graduated from Hartshorne High School.

He had worked as a ranch hand since a youngster. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was involved in calf roping and team roping most of his life.

He grew up attending Adamson Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Lila Simmons, of Adamson; one daughter, Christi Simmons, of Muskogee; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Travis and Ashley Simmons, of Pontotoc, Tracy and Deloris Simmons, of Hartshorne, and Ronnie and Julie Simmons, of Crescent, and an uncle, Eugene Simmons, of Eufaula.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Simmons.

Pallbearers will be Craig Ray, Cam Ray, Wade Johnson, Allen Moseley, Stacy Carr and Michael Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Barnes, Stoney Barnes, Hank Reynolds and Jordan Reynolds.
