Sue Upchurch, 86, of McAlester, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Solara Hospital in Muskogee.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Kasparek officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester.
She was born on June 28, 1927, in Springfield, Mo., to Fred and Kate McKeel. She grew up in Stonewall and married Bill Upchurch in 1967 in McAlester. She has lived in McAlester since 1965 and was a member of the Northtown Church of Christ. She worked at the former Naval Ammunition Depot and then worked in food service for McAlester Public Schools as a cook at Will Rogers and a cook and manager at Puterbaugh school. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her grandkids.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Ron Gan, of Tulsa, and Sherry and Ted Smith, of Sperry; six grandchildren, Amy Gan, Jason Gan, Jeremy Smith, Lori McCraw, Justin McCraw and Cody Smith; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister and brother-in-law, Vesta and Harry Hunt, of Ojai, Calif.
Also, four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ron and Lavonne Mullins, of Shady Point, Don and Joyce Mullins, of Stillwell, Tip and Tammy Mullins, of Fairfield, Calif., and Barry Mullins, of Oak View, Calif.; a step-son, Dick Upchurch and his wife, Gwen, of McAlester; a daughter-in-law, Ann McCraw, of Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David McCraw; and two brothers, Tommy and Dale Mullins.
Pallbearers will be Cody Smith, Jeremy Smith, Justin McCraw, Kevin Harp, Jason Gan and James Barton.
