WILBURTON — Glenn Douglas Davis, 65, formerly of Kiowa, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Medical Center of McKinney.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born Feb. 1, 1948, in Madill, he was the son of Alfred Vernon and Doris Bell Stinnett Davis. As a child the family moved to Kiowa where he graduated from Kiowa High School in the Class of 1966. He continued his education in Stroud, where he attended training as a heavy equipment operator.

He later joined the United States Air Force on Dec. 5, 1967. He served until he received his honorable discharge on May 1, 1970, having earned the rank of airman.

He married Shirley Dianne Crownover on Nov. 26, 1975, in Durant. He began his career with Texas Instruments in Sherman, Texas, later moving to Austin and then to Dallas. He was a machine operator for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2004.

He enjoyed watching ballgames on television and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davis, of the home; son, Douglas G. Davis, Farmersville, Texas; daughter, Janelle Davis, Trenton, Texas; mother, Doris Davis, of Kiowa; sister and brother-in-law, Karen J. and Ron Horne, Flower Mound, Texas, and numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred V. Davis; mother-in-law, Dovie Norman, and father-in-law, Billy J. Norman.
