James V. Utterback, 77, of McAlester, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services are Monday at 10 a.m. at the Brumley-Mills Chapel in McAlester with Sam Utterback and Howard Peters officiating.
Burial will follow at the Northtown Cemetery in McAlester with military honors provided by the Tinker Air Force Honor Guard.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 25, 1935, in McAlester, to Earl and Nettie (McCauley) Utterback. He married Jimmie Ann LeFlore on Oct. 20, 1953. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam and retired as Master Sergeant. He was a member of the VFW Post 1098 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Ann Utterback, of the home; children and spouses, Annette and Ronnie Sillmon, of McAlester, Janelle and Howard Peters, of McAlester, and Jim and Karrie Utterback, of Seminole; six grandchildren, Kimberlee Ott, Jay Peters, Ronnie Lee Sillmon, Shannon Scherman, Amanda Utterback and Sara Utterback; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Utterback, and sisters, Betty Ann Freeman and Edna Earl Tannehill.
Pallbearers are Jim Utterback, Sam Utterback, Howard Peters, Ronnie Sillmon, William Grantham, Johnny Grantham and Greg Centilli.
Honorary pallbearers are Justin Wright, Sam Harris, Brice Ott, Chris Lindley, Billy Fred Young, Mike Cox and Billy Cox.
