McALESTER — Edith Pearl (Barris) McKaskle, 96, of Perkins, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in Perkins.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stringtown Cemetery with Pastor Sally Houck officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home.

Born Aug. 27, 1917, in Bromide, she was the daughter of Lud Low and Bertha Maud Sissom Barris. She married Roy Hardy “Pete” McKaskle on Dec. 20, 1941, in Waurika, and he preceded her in death on June 16, 2001.

Survivors include a son, Joe P. and wife, Marilyn McKaskle, of Glencoe; a daughter, Linda L. and husband, Brian Henning, of Stillwater; grandsons, M. Scot McKaskle, of Stillwater, Ryan T. and wife, Michelle McKaskle, of Tulsa, Chad T. and wife, Jennifer McKaskle, Carnegie, Pa., John W. and wife, Leslee Henning, Raeford, N.C., and James B. Henning, of Oklahoma City, and his fiancee’, Kristal Gillmore, of Stillwater.

Also, great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn M. McKaskle, Brendan W. McKaskle, Landon J. McKaskle, Colton J. McKaskle and Madilyn B. McKaskle; brother, Herbert W. and wife, Bonnie Barris, Pahrump, Nev.; sisters, Mary Lou Griswald, Casper, Wyo., and Syble E. and husband, D.A. White, Silver City, N.M., and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. “Pete” McKaskle; parents, Lud Low and Bertha Maud “Sissom” Barris; brothers, Aaron D. Barris, Paul S. Barris and Jessie E. “Ned” Barris, and sisters, Lottie C. Jones, Daisy L. Barris, Iva R. Stanphill, Goldie M. Cherry, Addie H. Truett and Ozie L. Cantrell.
