Verna 'Tiny' Aigbe

McALESTER — Verna Kay "Tiny" (Brown) Aigbe, 53, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at her home.

Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mount Triumph Baptist Church. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Crown Hill Funeral Home of Tulsa.

She was born Aug. 6, 1960, in McAlester to Joel B. Morgan Brown and Jerry Herring.

She became a Christian when she was very young and attended East Star Baptist Church and later joined West Bethel Baptist Church.

She was student at L’Ouverture, in McAlester, but later moved to Los Angeles, Calif. and attended Freemont High School. It was also in California where she attended Compton Community College. In 1985, she moved back to Oklahoma City and worked at Elmer’s Uptown Bar & Grill. From Oklahoma City, she moved to Dallas, Texas, married Nosa Aigbe Aug. 18, 2001, and worked as a licensed insurance agent. Then returned to McAlester working at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant as a fork-lift operator and was currently employed at Braum’s.

Most people called her “Tiny” and it was a name she was fond of.

She had a contagious smile and loving spirit — she he didn’t know a stranger.

She had no children of her own, but enjoyed the company of her “little partners” — her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her sisters, Sandra Miles, and husband Eugene, of McAlester, Lillie M.
