Jonnye Workman

McALESTER — Jonnye Workman, 72, of McAlester died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at the McAlester Regional Health Center.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday at the Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester. Services are under the direction of Brumley-Mills.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1941, in McAlester to Fred and Ruby (Nelms) Manschreck. She grew up and lived all her life in the Krebs area. She married Buddy Workman in 1955 in Atoka. She worked at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, and as it was previously known, at the Naval Ammunition Dept., for 30 years, retiring as a production supervisor. She enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses and competing in team pinning, going to the horse races or playing in blackjack tournaments, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Buddy Workman, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Debbie Workman, of McAlester; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Terry Oliver, of Quinton; grandchildren Tabatha McGee and husband Shaun, of Harrah; Laticia Workman and J. R. Hightower, of McAlester; Dana Workman, of McAlester; Justin Thompson and wife Gerrilynn, of El Reno; great-grandchildren, Justi Thompson of Durant; Sassi Thompson, of Hugo; Destiny and Harley Raleigh, of McAlester; Briar and Lily Hightower, of McAlester, and Carson and Cale McGee, of Harrah; a brother, Dr.

Chris Manschreck, of McAlester; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lou and Eddie Harper, of McAlester, and Charlotte Cantrell, of McAlester; a brother-in-law, Jim Malone of Newcastle, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Peggy Gravitt and Sue Malone.

Active pallbearers are Colby Stufflebean, Shaun McGee,  J. R. Hightower, Jordan Wiseman, Richard Saccaro and Matt Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Upchurch, John LaFevers, Randy Lindstrom, Lawrence Burris and Jake Baker.

    Heaven opened its gates for Bette Jo Williams, 84, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, following a brief illness with pancreatic cancer. Bette lived in McAlester, OK, for 60 years. She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
