Dosolina ‘Dosie’ Grego

McALESTER — Dosolina “Dosie” Grego, 87, of Goddard, Kan., formerly of McAlester, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at

Medical Lodges, of Goddard, Kan.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday at Bishop Funeral Service with deacon Bill Anderson officiating.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Leonard Higgins.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, McAlester.

Services are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Born July 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Barney and Dosolina Contratto Blue.

She attended schools in the Hartshorne area and graduated from Hartshorne High School in 1945.

She married John James Grego in 1946 in Hartshorne.

They lived for several years in the Chicago area and eventually moved back to McAlester.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church for many years where she was member of the choir. She was a member of the Legion of Mary for 20 years and was a volunteer for the St. John’s Catholic School.

She also volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital and spent most of her life taking care of others.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Morrison, of Colwich, Kan; a grandson, Christopher Morrison, and wife, Julie, of Wichita, Kan.; a granddaughter, Melissa Ann Morrison, of Wichita, Kan.; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Ann Marnane, of Colwich, Kan., Isabel Morrison, of Wichita, Kan., and Layton Morrison, of Wichita, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John James Grego,  on Feb. 22, 1981; a son-in-law, Thomas Harry Morrison, in 2006;  an infant son, John Grego Jr.;  and brothers and sisters Margaret Nina Echelle, John Franklin, Nina Blue, JoAnna Blue and Mary Bernice Blue Martin.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Stizza, Jim Stizza, Michael Echelle, Larry Finamore, Bill Anderson and John Gleese, Jr.

The family requests memorials be made in her memory to The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 145 S. Millwood, Witchita, Kan. 67213.

    Alyce Yvonne Knight Lerblance was born on November 21, 1923, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, to Fred C. and Letha Mae Knight.  She was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Letha Knight.  Alyce grew up in Wilburton and graduated with the class of 1941 and was a graduate of Eastern State A & M in Wilburton.

She moved to Edmond, OK, two months ago in order to be closer to her sons and family members. Bette was born on the family farm near Washington, OK, on March 11, 1930.
