DALTON, Ga. —
Christopher W. “Chris” Butler, Jr., 63, of North Aurora, Ill., died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at his home, after a battle with kidney cancer.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Healy Chapel at 370 Division Dr. Sugar Grove, IL 60554.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Healy Sugar Grove Chapel.
He was born July 16, 1950, in Yazoo City, Mo., the son of Mary (Monroe) Butler and the late Christopher Butler, Sr.
He was an instructor for more than 28 years at Eastern Oklahoma State College. He also served as a reserve policeman for more than 10 years and a city councilman for more than seven years in Wilburton. Most recently he worked at Kaneland High School, in North Aurora, Ill., for security. He also was a part-time employee for the Waubonsee Community College Athletic Department as the public address speaker for home basketball and baseball games.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Edith Butler, of North Aurora, Ill.; sister, Mary Frances Tabor; mother, Mary Evelyn Butler; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Chris’ name may be directed to Waubonsee Community College, “Myrtle Belle Jones” Scholarship or to the Lions Club International.
