David Lynn Lewis, 53, of Ashland, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Specialty Hospital in Midwest City.
The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Ashland Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 24, 1960, in McAlester, he was the son of Harold and Lillie Fern (Williams) Lewis.
He grew up in Ashland and graduated from Kiowa High School in 1978.
Growing up, he spent much time working on the family farm hauling hay and on other farm chores.
In high school he was active in FFA and won the Golden Hammer award in his carpentry class.
One of his special interests was cars, especially fast cars.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Doris Phillips, of Kiowa, Carolyn and Charles Roberson, of Lane, Linda and Ted Snider, of Cache, Karen and Jimmy Staggs, of Saginaw, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Vicky Lewis of Bedford, Ind.; uncles and aunts, Raymond and Christine Williams, of Oklahoma City, Ed Stephenson, of the Eufaula area, Mary Lewis, of McAlester, Dorothy Williams, of McAlester, Pat Williams, of Texas, Lucille Williams, of Wyo., Mary Shepard, of Kan.; many nieces, nephews and cousins, and his best friend, Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glen Lewis; and a brother-in-law, Zay Phillips.
